CHI SONO

Mi chiamo Giorgio Leccese e sono nato a Taranto il 14 novembre 1961.

Ho frequentato l'Accademia Navale di Livorno dal 1980 al 1987 come Allievo Ufficiale ai Ruoli Normali, laureandomi in Medicina e Chirurgia presso l'Università di Pisa nel 1987. Nello stesso anno conseguivo l'Abilitazione all'esercizio professionale presso l'Università di Bari e, sempre in questa sede ho conseguito la Specializzazione in Chirurgia Generale nel 1992. Attualmente sono Ufficiale Medico della Marina Militare ed esercito attività di chirurgo prevalentemente nel settore della Chirurgia della Mano, essendo socio della Società Nazionale di Chirurgia della Mano e Arto Superiore dal 1995.

Mi interesso di filatelia da molti anni, avendo sviluppato in passato prevalentemente il settore della TEMATICA AVIAZIONE e soltanto dal 1985 ho cominciato a dedicarmi a quella che è attualmente il mio unico settore di interesse, cioè quello delle PROVE E SAGGI DI FRANCIA E AREA FRANCESE STAMPATE CON IL METODO CALCOGRAFICO (TAILLE DOUCE).

Nel corso di questi anni ho potuto accumulare una grande quantità di materiale filatelico che mi è stato indispensabile per approfondire le mie ricerche e le mie conoscenze in questo ultraspecializzato settore della filatelia, non potendo se non in minima parte attingere da altre fonti; è per questo motivo che sono stato indotto, in un primo tempo, a partecipare ad Esposizioni Filateliche e, soltanto in seguito, ad aprire questo sito web che è in continua evoluzione ed aggiornamento. In ultimo, ho scritto una lunga serie di articoli sull'argomento che hanno cominciato ad essere pubblicati con cadenza mensile a partire da dicembre 2000 su una nota rivista filatelica a diffusione nazionale. Tutto ciò per poter rendere partecipe il maggior numero di appassionati di filatelia e far conoscere al meglio questa materia che a mio avviso è affascinante e merita una ben più importante collocazione all'interno del panorama filatelico italiano. E' con lo stesso spirito che sono alla continua ricerca di nuovi "proseliti" nel settore, dal momento che queste autentiche piccole opere d'arte in miniatura sono molto apprezzate in tutto il mondo e solo da noi sono relegate ingiustamente in una microscopica "nicchia". Saranno benvenuti tutti i suggerimenti, i consigli e soprattutto le critiche di tutti coloro che mi aiuteranno a migliorare il sito e, ovviamente, mi consentiranno di aumentare a mia volta la conoscenza nel settore.

My name is Giorgio Leccese and I was born in Taranto (Puglia, in the South of Italy) in the November 14 th 1961.

I have attended the Military Naval Academy in Livorno from 1980 to 1987 as Normal Roles Official Student; graduating me in Medicine and Surgery in the Pisa University in 1987. In the same year I achieved the qualification to the professional exercise in the Bari University and, always in this center I have achieved the Specialization in General Surgery in 1992. Currently I am a surgeon of the Italian Navy and my primarily surgeon activity is in the branch of the Hand Surgery (I'm a member of the National Society of Surgery of the Hand and Upper Limb since 1995).

I'm interested in philately from many years, having in past developed primarily the sector of the Thematic Aviation and only from 1985 I have started to devote me to the one that is currently my only sector of interest: the Proofs and the Essays of France and French Area stamps printed with the Engraving-Method (Calchography, Recess Printing, Taille Douce).

During these years The have been able to accumulated to great deal of philatelic material that has been essential to develop my searches and my knowledges in this over-specialized topic of the philately, since the sources of information are very scarce. It's for this reason that I have been moved, in a first time, to participate to Philatelic Exposures and, only subsequently, to open this web site that is in unceasing evolution and updating. In last I have written a long series of articles on this topic (their monthly spreading it's started from December 2000 on a known philatelic magazine with a national diffusion. This one to share with the greatest number of fond of philately and to have this subject known better that in my opinion it's fascinating and to be worth an important position into the italian and world-wide philatelical stage. With the same spirit, I'm in continuous search of new proselytes in the sector, by the moment that these authentic small work of art are really appreciate in the whole world. All the suggestions will be welcome, the advices and above all the criticisms of all those people that will help me to improve this site and, obviously, they will allow to increase in my turn the knowledge in this topic.
